COSTING

The Costing System is true multi-user, multi-company and is the heart of the Management Information System. Everything focuses on this program and the files it creates. The Job Cost Sheet is the central vehicle for gathering and disseminating all costing related information and it is held in the archives for many years. It is instantly retrievable and is scanned by both the Report and Document Generators.

Features

  • 16 Costing Departments, each with up to 99 Cost Centres, each with access to 200 operation codes plus a 17th department for recording deliveries. Enough for any level of performance analysis.
  • Hourly rates may be sub-divided into Direct Overheads, Indirect Overheads and Labour, thereby giving automatic contribution reporting.
  • Downtime: non-chargeable indirect time has a recording and reporting system of its own.
  • Budgets may be set for each cost centre to show total possible recovered and unrecovered times. Performance reports can be compared against budgeted figures for any period of the year.
  • Month end date may be reset each month. Clever security makes sure your month end management reporting procedures are correctly maintained.
  • Detailed break down of author’s corrections and extra charges.
  • Daily daybook of data entered with excess costs report and system monitoring.
  • Ability to consolidate values booked to sub-jobs into one master job.
  • Ability to do the opposite, i.e. distribute costs on a Master Job back to the sub-jobs according to percentages you can set (used for mixed jobs and/or customers on the same print sheet).
  • Many standard reports are available from installation without having to use the Report Generator. Their numerous variations fall under four main family headings; Work-in-Progress; Invoiced Sales Analysis; Labour Recovery & Performance; and Raw Data Analysis.

Functions

Data Collection

  • Indirect high-speed multi-user data input with full protection.
  • Electronic Shop Floor Data Capture. Manual time sheet entry can be mixed with SFDC.
  • Sentinel Live-on-Line Machine Monitoring. This can be attached to any type of machinery.
  • Manual time sheet entries are easy to enter, easy to verify, easy to edit, and easy to review.
  • Information entered communicates directly with Production Control Event Centres.
  • Booking of Purchases, Stock Movements, Deliveries and Invoices are fully automated through integration with the relevant programs.

Job Cost Sheet

  • Cost Sheets, past and present can be read on screen at any time. There is one standard layout or as many special layouts as you may wish to personalise with the Imprint Document Generator.
  • The Cost Sheet shows a section by section, Cost to Estimate, comparison and variance report.
  • Plus a breakdown of all the normal time; overtime; author’s corrections and narrative comments.
  • Plus the run quantities with average output speeds.
  • Plus all material movements; purchase orders; part deliveries; part invoices.
  • And you are able to drill down to an individual line of daily time sheet entry.

Raw data store and analysis

  • Raw data is the stored product of Time Capture, Material, Purchases and Delivery movements.
  • This data is stored for many years and may be analysed down to one single docket entry.
  • Many of the management reports build themselves directly from this Raw Data. A cost sheet can be completely rebuilt from Raw Data using the appropriate Help utility.

Work-in-Progress and Invoiced Sales Analysis Reports

  • These two families of reports are generated by the high-speed scanning of all Cost Sheets and they may be sub-divided by Customer, Salesman, Product, Department, Values, etc.
  • With this Imprint scanning technique, changes to a single cost sheet instantly amends the reports.
