Goods Inwards

Imprint Goods Inwards is a robust piece of software designed to facilitate the receipt of paper and other materials by staff on the Factory Floor and requiring the minimum of training.

In its basic form key information is typed into a screen and the production of bar coded labels and the booking to stock and purchase files is carried out automatically. At a higher level the forklift truck driver will place the reels onto an Imprint Goods-In Weighbridge to achieve the same effect with greater speed and accuracy and to check the actual weight against the declared weight of the goods. The system will also accept incoming bar codes and EDI electronic manifests.

Functions

• Enter the purchase order number (which should be on the delivery note).
• If in doubt use the Imprint Suppliers Outstanding Order diary.
• Enter delivery quantity, the delivery note and transporter's own code (if used).
• Watch the screen for any warnings.
• Produce the bar coded labels for the Reels or Pallets as required. The labels carry information about the Stock Code; the unique Batch Number; the Reel Number within the batch; the Quantity or Weight of the Reel or Pallet; the Supplier and the Order Number.
• Return to stock any partially used issues and create replacement bar code labels.
• Maintain the Suppliers Record Files. Each file automatically retains a trail of all transactions.

Integration

Purchasing

• Goods received automatically check against the purchase order before the booking can proceed.
• Part deliveries, under deliveries and over deliveries, may be received but the operator is notified and the information is reported.
• If no purchase order exists 100-to-1 you should not be taking receipt of the goods. Nothing can be booked in through this program without an order.

Stock Control

• Goods received and checked against order are automatically passed to the stock file.
• The Stock File Code is on the purchase order so there is no chance of booking to an incorrect file.
• Goods-Inwards is also used to return to stock partially used items such as part reels and pallets.

Shop Floor Data Capture & Sentinel Machine Monitoring

• Bar coded labels are read directly into the data collection stations deducting from stock and posting to costing in a single swipe.

EEC Packaging Waste Directive

• Weigh scales may be used to record the weight of the packaging directly into a stock file. As the material is issued to jobs the packaging weight is accrued for later display on delivery notes and invoices.
• All this in compliance with the EEC packaging waste directive.

Goods-in Weighbridge

The top level of automation and control is obtained with a Goods-In Weighbridge. The amount of accuracy and automation this brings to the rest of the Management System makes it well worth while to set this up properly. Existing users have shown that it does not delay the unloading of the lorries.

• The forklift truckdriver will place his carry of reels onto the Goods-In Weighbridge and the production of labels and the booking to stock and purchase files is carried out automatically.
• The actual and declared weights of the delivered goods are recorded and an informative discrepancy report is filed if necessary.
• There are various formats for Weighbridge control including floor-level. In this case the forklift rolls over the bridge empty on the way out and loaded on the way back; the difference being the weight of the item.
