STOCK CONTROL

Raw Material Stock Control is another logical and easy to use program, but look deeper and you will find a depth of control and tracking second to none. It is closely integrated with Estimating, Purchasing, Costing, Production and Waste Control and is based upon the requirements of ISO9002.

  • On first-in-first-out principles it will show current stock balances and values with an audit trail of all transactions. There is full trace-ability from an end product back to its source via whatever machines it was produced on. It will also show the history of all other jobs produced from that same original batch.

Functions

  • Purchases for Stock: the data is automatically integrated from the Purchasing module.
  • Receives Goods Inwards. Issues unique batch numbers and bar coded labels if required. (The data is automatically brought in from the Goods-In and Purchasing modules.)
  • Permits and records allocations, deductions, adjustments, quarantines and returns to supplier.
  • Supplies opening and closing balances, between any dates, and any number of reports and statistics via the Report and Document Generators.
  • Price list files may be created to feed costs and descriptions to the Estimating and Costing systems.

Set up Features

  • Each Stock Item may be individually shaped to reflect its purpose (e.g. Plates, Film, Ink, Sheets of Paper, Reels of Paper, etc.).
  • Multiple units of measurement (e.g. 1000sheets, 1sheet, 1kilo, 1000kilos, 10boxes, etc.)
  • Multiple methods of pricing (e.g. £’s/tonne, Pence/square metre, £’s/kilo or per 1000 kilos, etc.).
  • Reels may be purchased in one unit of measurement and issued to the factory in another (e.g. bought in metres and issued by weight: or, bought by weight and issued per reel, etc.). Every printer with reel-fed machinery has his own preferred way of handling this subject.
  • Each Item shows four price fields: the purchase price of the last batch; the individual price of each batch; the selling price to be used by Estimating; and the overall true average against which the stock is valued.
  • Each Item shows the quantities for Actual, Available, on Order and in Quarantine.

Operating Features

  • Individual batch control and individual location control.
  • Individual reel or pallet tracking.
  • Allocations to jobs can be made from within Works Instruction Writing or direct within Stock itself.
  • Deductions all integrate automatically with the Job Cost Sheets. Three ways are possible: direct from within Stock itself; by the Daily Data Input function of the Costing System; and Directly from Shop Floor Data Capture terminals usually by reading bar coded labels on the pallets or reels.
  • Stock Returns, part reels or part pallets, automatically reduce the posted values on the Cost Sheets.
  • All allocations and orders show reducing totals for part deductions and part receipts. The final outstanding balances are self-correcting.
  • Options for bar coded labels for individual reel and/or pallet management.
  • Options for automatic integration with Weighbridge and Waste Control System.

Reporting Features

The Imprint Report Generator and Document Generator programs can take any of the data from the Stock Cards and their audit trails and produce any number of colour and graphical presentations, both for internal purposes and as letters to suppliers etc.

  • Month end figures are returned along with the Work-in-Progress valuation from Costing.
  • The full Imprint sort-filter-find engine covering all the records and transaction fields.
  • Statistical reports to assist budget control.
  • Reports on locations, batch transactions, quarantines, slow moving stock, customers own stock, etc.
  • Stock takes and stock adjustment reports.
