WORKS INSTRUCTION WRITING

This is a very powerful program with many integrated functions aimed at issuing instructions to the factory in the swiftest, easiest and most readable manner. As with all the modules it is multi-user and in a single hit it creates all the documents, files and records required to run the entire Management System.

Functions

  • To create Single Job Instructions.
  • To create Composite Job Instructions. Up to 26 separate jobs may be listed on one instruction.
  • To create Finished Stock Picking Lists. Up to 40 items on a single composite style instruction.
  • To create Single and Composite Job instructions integrated directly with Finished Goods Stock.

Features

  • An estimate or a previous archived instruction can both be used together to create a new job.
  • An instruction can be raised using Job History Card data along with an estimate.
  • Editing an instruction could not be easier and version numbers update automatically. Estimates and revised estimates can be pulled in through the edit routine as the job progresses.
  • EDI orders are received live on-line onto the screen. Instructions may be raised automatically.

Integration

General

  • Job number is entered onto the converted estimate/enquiry.
  • Job is registered on the Customer’s Record audit trail and to the Job History Card file, if present.
  • Job Cost Sheet is opened in Work-in-Progress.
  • Production Control Card is opened in Scheduling System.
  • Estimated times, speeds, materials and outwork all integrate into Works Instructions, Cost Sheets and the Production Schedules.
  • Purchases are sent to the Purchasing system.
  • Paper and board may be allocated directly to the Raw Materials Stock files.

Finished Stock

  • Finished Goods Stock Card automatically opened if a code is entered that does not already exist.
  • If Stock File does exist current stock position is displayed. (Actual, free and in production).
  • Opened order is booked to the Stock File with quantity and delivery date.

Finished Stock Picking Notes

  • Select each Stock File in turn. Use the automatic search and filter routines for speed.
  • Enter quantity required; it is allocated to the stock file and current free stock position is confirmed.
  • Stock is actually deducted when the despatch note is raised.
  • The Despatch Notes follow the Picking Notes automatically, line by line, item by item. The invoice can match the despatch note in the same way.

Works Instructions & Related Documents

The Imprint Document Generator allows you to create an unlimited number of layouts, with bar codes if necessary, for all manner of documents: Works Instructions, Picking Notes, Acknowledgement letters, T-Cards, Certificates, Proofing slips, and any others you can invent.

  • There are 65 fixed pre-defined integrated data fields (you do not have to use them all) plus text block areas for the estimate workings.
  • 80 extra user definable data fields. All the data fields may be cross-integrated to the user-defined fields of the Job History Card and the Rapid Order Booking modules.
  • All fields are mapped and available to the Document Generator and Report Generator.

The Archive

All Works Instructions are automatically filed to the long-term archive. They may always be read on screen and they may always be used again to open repeat or similar jobs.
